This is the place that I have reserved for the names and or logos of all the guilds,Cartels, and free traders that I can find. hopefully I'll be able to find all of them...but if I can't...it won't be due to a lack of looking. ;) You'll notice that some of the guilds and free merchants share an affiliation like "League of Alligned Guilds" or "Web Ring". This is due to some guilds becoming partners OR because they are on good terms or possibly because they have signed a non-aggression treaty. Guilds can and will go to war with one another giving new meaning to the phrases "Hostile Takeover" and "Corporate Wars". As well, some of these guilds are outlaws as well. Transporting anything and everything for a profit. They also take on the jobs that no one else wants to do. The best way to describe one of these "pirate guilds" would be to imagine the most ruthless and cunning pirate....then put him in the position of CEO of a company.... Or if you rather...you can take a look at the mottos for some of these guilds. Take Scorpion Cartel for example. There motto says it all "IF the money's there..We do not care." Any questions?? Some of these guilds are also mercenaries as well. Fighting wars between races for profit. The Boron and the Split are a good example of this. They have been at war for years and the extra fighters and fire power....ever see a squid smile?? There are also Squadron logos here as well. Squadron logos are a mystery in and of themselves. These are fighter pilots that for the most part act like mercenaries but more on the legal side. For the most part, one can tell by the logo which are guilds and corporations and which are mercenaries and the like. Others are hired police/security for various races throughout the galaxy. Some have the standard ships issued by the hiring race, while others have fighters of their choice upgraded to their liking. As well, alot of these guilds are trading guilds that trade their wares throughout the galaxy. Most of the ships that are owned by trading guilds are very fast and lightly armed as to get from point A. to point B. as quickly as posibly without interruption. Finally, there are also the free traders. These are the happy-go-lucky free merchants that have no real ties to anyone but themselves. They trade where they want and when they want without taking orders from anyone but their customers. These lone wolves have to be careful as well. They do not have the protection of vast fighter fleets coming to the rescue when thins go wrong, and often times, they call on the local patrols to help them out of a tight jam. But none the less, these people are the back bone of all Guilds and Cartels. Without them...there would be no Guilds or Cartels. |
